An unedited testament of change

We are so honoured to be able to support vulnerable youth in our community with meaningful employment and in case you were wondering exactly how much your support means, here is an unedited testimonial from one of our youth artisans outlining the true meaning of Kind Karma.

"I've been working at Kind Karma for a few months and I can honestly say that I've changed tremendously in a short amount of time.

Kind Karma has given me a sense of structure and productivity without getting in the way of my healing process. With all of the ups and downs that I face in everyday life, Kind Karma has become a place where I can find comfort and stability. Not to mention the support and the sense of community between my colleagues and my boss / confidant.

I applied and interviewed for a number of jobs before I found my way to this one and I can confidently say that I have made the right decision to turn the other jobs down because the truth is, having gone through a lot of trauma, I was not prepared to join the workforce.

But working here has made me realize that I don't have to jeopardize my mental health to be able to support myself.

Kind Karma is a safe, supportive and flexible environment that youth in my position desperately need. It's a therapeutic bubble in this harsh world and has quickly become my happy place that I go to when life gets hard. But it's not just about making jewellery. Working at Kind Karma is a place of healing and growth.

The programs that we have here show that our boss is genuinely invested in our wellbeing. I found the guidance I needed to step in the right direction, explore my interests and improve my life. Being surrounded by goal-oriented people in an atmosphere of self-love, compassion and support is refreshing and uplifting. I feel lucky to be able to say that I love where I work and the people I work with, I enjoy every minute that I spend making jewellery and I always feel a sense of fulfilment at the end of every day and for that I am eternally grateful.

Kind Karma is a wonderful place with a great cause and I am proud to be a part of it."
